Summer is here, and it’s time to have some fun! It’s well known that Columbus, OH has some of the best summer activities in the country. But do you know what’s even better? The fact that you can drive to all of them from Columbus! From roller coasters to rock climbing, there are tons of attractions for you to choose from when you visit Ohio.

Columbus Zoo

A visit to the Columbus Zoo is a one-of-a-kind experience for any animal enthusiast. The zoo’s 2,000 animals live in naturalistic habitats that replicate their natural environments as closely as possible, making it the premier family destination for nature lovers and animal enthusiasts. For those with children, there are plenty of exhibits for kids of all ages, including an Australian Outback exhibit featuring kangaroos and koalas and an Africa Savanna habitat with lions and elephants.

The zoo also hosts special events throughout the year, including festivals like Boo at the Zoo, which takes place every October during the Halloween season, where kids can trick-or-treat among costumed characters while exploring this amazing animal park.

Zoombezi Bay

Zoombezi Bay is a water park located on the Columbus riverfront. It’s a great way to spend a summer day with friends and family. You’ll find a variety of rides, including wave pools, lazy rivers, and waterslides. The park also features areas for kids and for adults only (such as the FlowRider), as well as restaurants, games, live entertainment, and more!

Whether you want to relax on the beach or ride all day, Zoombezi Bay has something for everyone! This is one of those fun places that everyone in your family will enjoy going to.

Topiary Park

This park is filled with more than 300 topiary sculptures and gardens, which were hand-carved by artists. The park also features two lakes and a nature center, which are open year-round. Start your visit at the 10-acre garden known as the Topiary Garden. Here, you’ll find everything from hedge animals to geometrical shapes to plants. You can even see a replica of the Taj Mahal in India.

The park also has an outdoor amphitheater that hosts concerts throughout the summer months. The best part about visiting Topiary Park is that it’s only about 45 minutes away from Columbus, so it’s an easy day trip!

No matter what you enjoy doing, there is an activity or destination within driving distance of Columbus. Take to the road and discover how easy it is to get away; these destinations are worth a visit. Rising gas prices can put a damper on any trips you plan to make around town, so it’s good that your Jeep Renegade is fuel-efficient on both city and highway roads!
