The Tradesman announces its arrival with a black grille featuring active shutters and silver RAM lettering. You'll also find black bumpers and 18-inch steel wheels. The Lone Star features a chrome grille with a black insert, chrome bumpers, and chrome-finished 18-inch wheels. With the Laramie, you can take advantage of heated power-folding trailer tow mirrors and a dampened tailgate. The Laramie's grille has a billet design, and its wheels are aluminum. The Limited Longhorn treats you to wheel-to-wheel side steps, or you can upgrade to power-deployable running boards, which come standard on the Limited.
Engine (Power)
The 2022 Ram 3500 comes standard with a 6.4-liter HEMI V-8 engine that produces a best-in-class 410 horsepower. It also generates 429 pound-feet of torque and gives the Ram 3500 an 18,210-pound towing capacity. Ram also offers a 6.7-liter Cummins Turbo Diesel I6 engine that puts out 370 horsepower and 850 pound-feet of torque. If you equip your Ram 3500 with this engine, you can use it to tow 22,670 pounds. Another option is the 6.7-liter high-output Cummins Turbo Diesel I6 with an output of 420 horsepower and best-in-class 1,075 pound-feet of torque. The high-output diesel engine provides a 37,090-pound towing capacity that's also the best in its class.
Performance
Ram pairs the HEMI V-8 with an eight-speed automatic transmission that seamlessly shifts through gears, giving you a refined ride that's rare in heavy-duty trucks. The diesel engines team up with a six-speed automatic that reduces noise, vibration, and harshness. If you equip your Ram 3500 with the available rear air suspension, you can take advantage of a bed-lowering mode that makes it easier to hook up your tow trailer.
Interior
The Ram 3500 seats three to six people depending on what cabin you choose. Five-seater and six-seater cabins feature fold-flat rear seats that give you extra cargo space when you need it. Available in-floor bins, a rear cubby bin, and a center console are ideal for storing devices and other personal items. The Limited adds leather seating surfaces and accents made of wood and aluminum, while the Limited Longhorn features a leather interior with filigree stitching. Add the UConnect 5C system, and you can take advantage of dual-phone connectivity, tow-specific navigation, and a Wi-Fi hot spot.
