2022 Chrysler Pacifica
The Chrysler Pacifica is undeniably practical. This family-friendly minivan has everything you need for carting kids around to their activities or taking a road trip. For the 2022 model year, the Pacifica has a new in-cabin air filtration system, and Amazon Fire TV is now part of the optional Uconnect Theater system. Here's a quick look at some of the Pacifica's best features.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
The entry-level Pacifica is the Touring. It has LED exterior lighting, power-sliding side doors, a power liftgate, and heated side exterior mirrors. A step up to the Touring L adds 17-inch wheels, a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, and the option for hands-free sliding doors. The Limited bumps things up a notch with a foot-gesture activated power liftgate and sliding side doors, power-folding side exterior mirrors, and 18-inch polished alloy wheels. The Limited also adds puddle lights, illuminated footwells, and front-door searchlights. The top-level Pacifica is the Pinnacle. It has 20-inch polished alloy wheels and a black grille with chrome surround.
Engine (Power)
All gas-powered Pacifica models have a 3.6-liter V-6 engine under the hood. It generates 287 horsepower and delivers 262 pound-feet of torque. It uses Chrysler's nine-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive for most models. All-wheel drive is optional for any trim, except the Pinnacle, where it comes standard.
Performance
The Pacifica does an excellent job of creating a tranquil driving experience. It's easy to handle and has a raised driving position that makes it easier to see around you. The engine is plenty strong enough for this minivan, quickly propelling it up to cruising speed on the highway, and when equipped, it can even tow up to 3,600 pounds.
Interior
Standard seating in the Pacifica fits seven or eight, while choosing the Pinnacle with the second-row captain's chairs reduces this to seven. Standard features include three-zone climate control, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and Stow-n Go second-row seats. Leather upholstery comes in the Touring L along with driver's seat memory settings and heated front seats. You'll get ventilated front seats in the top two trims, and the Pinnacle adds an interior camera system. A 10.1-inch touch screen comes in the base Touring trim. It also comes standard with a six-speaker stereo, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, USB ports, and Uconnect 5. The Uconnect Family Group is optional for the L, adding 10.1-inch seat back screens, Uconnect Theater, Amazon Fire TV, wireless steaming, and a 115-volt power outlet. The Limited adds navigation and a 19-speaker stereo system, and the Pinnacle gets Uconnect Theater as a standard feature.
Safety Features
Every Pacifica comes standard with a long list of advanced driver aids. These include forward collision warning with mitigation, adaptive cruise control, lane-departure warning, pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. The Touring L and above add to this with a surround-view parking camera, automated parking that will steer the Pacifica into a parking spot with almost no driver intervention, and front and rear parking sensors. The Pinnacle is the only Pacifica to gain trailer sway control.
